The Gathering is located at 11515 East U.S. 36 Parke County, Indiana, just three miles east of Raccoon Lake. Known for its naturally beautiful pastoral landscapes, lakes, and rivers; Parke County is the ideal location to celebrate our place in the natural world.
Visitors are invited to visit and hear the drumming and singing and watch the dancing to traditional music. MNI’s Mississinewa Singers, Thunder with the Hands will be the native drummers. The public is welcome to join in on the fun. There will be at least 25 craft and food vendors selling traditional buffalo burgers, fry bread, and sassafras tea. American style food will also be available. The vendors, representative of many different tribes, will be selling beaded jewelry, handmade moccasins, regalia, flutes, blankets, sage, books, Native music, T-shirts, and much more.
Children and adults alike can visit the Indian Village and see how our first people lived and hear storytelling. Check out the large exhibit of narrow style teepees. There will also be an opportunity to watch Indy Hula Dancers perform Saturday afternoon.
We also have a few surprises planned that will be announced throughout the year. Keep up to date with events by visiting us online at miamiindians.org.
