Passersby stumbling upon the Country Farmers Market often stop and linger for quite awhile, and it’s no wonder. How often do you find a large variety of breads, pies and baked goods along with pasture-fed chemical free and/or organic meats, cheese and eggs. Also available is frozen beef, pork chicken, lamb and buffalo; hot dogs, bologna, bacon, and hams are always a specialty.
Customers can enjoy picnic tables under the trees in a pavilion, or stop for take outs of breakfasts of yummy biscuits, sausage and gravy - or try chicken Bar-B-Q dinners - or sandwiches on fresh baked breads with your choice of chicken salad, beef Bar-B-Q or buffalo burgers, served with fresh squeezed lemonade or drinks like Grandma made.
For dessert patrons choose from ice cream - cranked while you watched - oven fresh soft pretzels, handmade fruit-filled fry pies, or potato chips made on site! Gifts for your family abound and include canned jellies, soups, beets, salsa, apple butter, noodles, craft items, hand loomed rugs, quillows, gel candles, soaps, lawn furniture and Parke County cookbooks.
Given the variety of goods available at this roadside marketplace, it’s not surprising that the Country Farmers Market is a favorite among locals and tourists alike. As one regular commented, “Our family looks forward to coming here every week. We love the wide range of items you now offer. We are so glad you’re here.”
